Bodybuilding

Bodybuilding

Bodybuilding a sport that’s everyone is familiar with in this generation, to actually know when bodybuilding started well isn't an easy task. The training techniques and who introduced them, mastered them in which later on became of every bodybuilding and fitness book ever published.
The evolution of the sport, let us go back to age of Greek and roman ideals. When you ask any true bodybuilder when did it all start? They automatically go back to a time Ancient Greek to completely understand how the sport evolved, they point you to the roman gladiators who fought for their life a means to live and showing off their impressive physiques and how they are able to handle and carry the heavy weaponry showing physical strength and endurance. Later on things changed to avoid fighting brutally to the death they developed it into the sport know now days to all as modern Olympics back in 1896. Joe Weider also known as the father of bodybuilding recently passed away in March 23, 2013, had great honor for the Olympians and made a competition for the sport of bodybuilding whoever is the number one bodybuilder/ athlete will be named Mr. Olympia. Now that we covered the basics everyone must wonder who was the first bodybuilding star? We go back to a man named Florenz Ziegfeld a promoter of talents, he had heard of a man named Sandow and of his great success in Europe, through Florenz, Sandow came to the United States Of America to show off his impressive body and became very wealthy and after that the young generation in that time all idolized Sandow and wanted to be just like him. Back in the year 1977 a new trophy was made a model of Sandow and whoever was on top would win this great prize along with prize money as well.
In the fifties and sixties was a new transformation in the sport of building, most of the old bodybuilder retired from competing and later on went into becoming great supporters for the sport, by owning gyms and some also went into the acting business and let us not forget a man, a bodybuilder named Steve Reeves who retired and went into acting one of the greats and admired by everyone with his proportioned well-built physique. In the nineteen sixties a new line of bodybuilders appeared to name a few: Frank Zane, Dave Drapper, Boyer Coe and Rick Wayne and since then there have only been thirteen men have held Mr. Olympia title. When anyone hears the word bodybuilding or see a bodybuilding they automatically put and image of one person and one person only, the most respected man in the sport of bodybuilding who actually revived the sport and pushed it into a whole new dimension a new era and this man is: Arnold Schwarzenegger, he idolized one man growing up in Graz a part of Austria, he changed the view of bodybuilding and won five Mr. Universe titles as well as seven Mr. Olympia titles from the mid-sixties to mid-seventies and since then bodybuilding has never been the same many inspired youngsters began bodybuilding and at fast rate branching out of the eighties bodybuilders appeared more massive than ever and well conditions and proportioned and the rivalry continues on to this day. The Mr. Olympia bodybuilders that have gone down in history are very respected and idolized the seventies era the king of the sport was Arnold Schwarzenegger, the eighties Lee Haney, nineties Dorian Yates, two thousands an eight time Mr. Olympia known as Ronnie Coleman the most massive bodybuilder to ever hold the title till this day no one has ever matched and the only one who was ever close was Jay Cutler a 4 time Mr. Olympia.
There are many myths and stereotypes when it comes to the sport of bodybuilding, bodybuilders have to put through jealousy, ridicule and ignorance.
One of these myths if you stop working out your muscle turns to fat, this is the most statement you will ever hear from anyone who doesn't even have a clue about the human body and the sport, to clarify this false accusation what is the human anatomy consist of? The answer is bones muscle fibers or muscle tissue now muscle tissue and fat are two entirely different things and are not related to each other at all. Muscle can’t be converted into fat because they two different biological entities, when you eat the extra energy is stored in the muscle fiber as fat until you need to use it, so for someone who has stopped working out and doesn't even do any cardio where is the extra fat going to go to ? it will pile up in the muscle fiber.

Before you even start to think of bodybuilding, there many things to consider which are vital when building a perfect physique the never ending triangle that must be followed all the time is the key: Nutrition, sleep and training these are the most important things to watch out for and to keep track of your progress to rise up to the top.
Step one is to know your body type and how to eat and train, there three types and they are:
Ectomorph, Mesomorph and the Endomorph and of course there are combinations of the three it varies from one person to the other.
The Ectomorph: this category well they are the skinniest people you will find, narrow shoulders, chest, waist and are usually tall, this type has a very active metabolism the ability to digest food and convert it into energy the fastest out of the three, this category is also known as hard gainers this term came to be due the fact that these type of people find it very hard to develop serious mass but very easily to lose it and can drop their weight very easily because they use most of the energy they have stored in the muscles which results in low body fat.
The Mesomorph: this category is most gifted out of the three when it comes to building an optimum physique as they have big bones and have the ability to gain and lose weight easily when on proper nutrition.
The Endomorph: this type has the ability to gain fast very easily more than the other two types and can easily pack on the mass needed, yet it comes at a price for this type because the endomorph has to keep an eye on the diet and nutrition part and must have at least 20 to 30 minute cardio exercise three to five times a week.
It is not easy to figure out your own type, until you develop your own body, as you might have one or two combinations. To build a perfect body you need to have a healthy mindset a goal you must see yourself in the long term not in short term which many people don’t have the patients to go through the heavy painful workouts always looking for the quick fix which is totally wrong, you also need to be motivated and have specific plant a target in doing so you have a journal to write down your daily plans and what you have accomplished and look to the next day. If you just hang around in the gym and don’t know what you are doing there you will get nowhere and will stay as you are, the most efficient way is to educate yourself by the oldest method which is reading, and once you practice what you have ready and see if it works for you if it does then keep on going don’t stop. There are many common mistakes but that’s why there are certified trainers to help you achieve your goals. Bodybuilding is a well-respected sport and is not a sport to be taken lightly there are safety precautions that each individual must follow using correct form of execution using the right gear to prevent injuries and to always be alert of what is going on around you and so on.

Bodybuilding teaches us many things one of them is that you can achieve anything, what was impossible to others you made possible and it also teaches you patients it takes a lot of hard work motivation and dedication to go through all of that which you learn about success, it comes from the amount of effort you put into it , plant the seed water the seed watch it grow a tree doesn't grow overnight and so as the human body it doesn't grow to a Mr. Olympia overnight. One last thing to mention is that in the sport of bodybuilding enhanced drugs have been used and still are used today of course these bodybuilders always keep track of their health and have doctor visits as well, so let go of the hate for the sport and stop thinking of the sport as something dangerous and to be put aside , yes these amazing athletes take these drugs but the amount of work and effort and dedication they put into is more than the normal average man will ever comprehend, finally bodybuilding is a beautiful sport , build your physique to your peak and be proud of your achievements and remember NO PAIN NO GAIN.
